The On Site Visit

 

Site visits are about chemistry. The telephone interview set the stage for the on site visit. Now you're going to meet personally to determine:

 

q       Do we want to work together?

q       Can we agree on the terms of employment?

 

 

Here are some recommendations for the site visit:

 

 

q       Participants:

     o     Determine names are their positions in the organization.

     o     Prior to your interview, you may wish to research the background of these individuals.

 

q       Agenda / itinerary:

     o     Determine the time, dates and duration of stay. 

     o     Obtain a schedule of activities.

 

q       Information exchange:

     o     Make a list of your questions.

     o     Be prepared to answer their questions.

     o     Explain what makes you different from others within your 

         specialty.

 

q       Bring your credentials:

     o     Medicare/Medicaid numbers

     o     DEA numbers

     o      License verification etc.

 

q       Bring your references:

     o     Bring information about three individuals that can be used as 

           references.

     o     You may wish to qualify that they should be contacted 

         only if a valid offer of employment is made.

 

q       Letter of intent:

     o     Request a letter of intent. 

     o     It should summarize of the key terms of your employment.

 

q       Follow up Letter:

         o    Send a letter thanking your host.
